Wuerzburg, July 14, 2021 – Despite the ongoing crisis, Low-Code provider Simplifier was able to successfully finish its previous fiscal year, which ended on March 31 of this year. The Würzburg-based company once again doubled its licensed customer business in the GSA (D-A-CH) region and thus the resulting annual recurring revenue. Moreover, the Franconian innovation driver succeeded in acquiring many new and strong partners who benefit from the constantly evolving product offerings.

Multi-segment, intuitive, efficient – in the previous fiscal year, Simplifier was again able to convince customers and partners alike of its multi-experience development platform based on Low-Code technology. The solution especially proved its worth in the SAP ecosystem, but also in non-SAP and IoT business. This is especially applicable to the most recently launched release 6.0, in which one aspect is clearly in focus: User-friendliness. Thus, Simplifier made it even easier to get started with app creation thanks to intelligent app wizards, a fresh and clear design, and intuitive widget groups. As a result, the platform’s appeal increased for both IT professionals and Citizen Developers. The brand-new marketplace also offers app templates as well as ready-to-use connectors to the SAP, Microsoft, and Google solution worlds, thus generating valuable synergy effects.

Solid market position

Thanks to the continuous development of the platform and the accompanying modification to meet the rapidly changing requirements of Low-Code users, Simplifier was able to reinforce its market position in the Low-Code segment. The company once again succeeded in doubling its license customer business in the GSA region and thus its annual recurring revenue. And this despite the fact that many companies were rather cautious due to the crisis at the beginning of the fiscal year. The customers are primarily from German-speaking countries but are successfully using Simplifier’s Low-Code technology in their projects worldwide. In addition, the company once again succeeded in winning important strategic partners such as BTC, nagarro and adesso Switzerland, with whom together 25 percent of Simplifier’s new business revenue was generated. In addition to Viessmann and Suedzucker, Simplifier was able to acquire further well-known license customers in 2020/21 – including Bischof + Klein, Preh, GMN, KHS, Eurimpharm and the mtu brand.

“We are looking back on a thoroughly successful fiscal year. This confirms our approach of focusing our platform more on Citizen Developers within the SAP ecosystem. It optimally empowers our customers and partners to build SAP and non-SAP integrated multi-device applications in an efficient and future-proof way,” said Reza Etemadian. “By leveraging cutting-edge technologies and the highest level of flexibility of our platform, we provide more than just an advanced and intuitive user experience that benefits all customers and partners. We also offer significant advantages compared to our competitors,” Etemadian continued.

In the total addressable market, the demand for Low-Code software has increased by between 30 and 40 percent in the past year. For Simplifier, however, the increase in demand was close to 100 percent. This trend also reflects in the Simplifier community, which recorded an increase of almost 1,000 members last year and thus now has around 3,000 users.

Before the crisis began, requests to Simplifier came primarily from utility and manufacturing companies. This has changed significantly over the last year. More and more customers now come from different industries. As a result of the crisis, their structures are changing more and more, which is why they are focusing more on digitization. In the process, many have noticed the added value of Low-Code technology and are using it profitably. Especially companies from the food, pharmaceutical or chemical industries identified Low-Code to accelerate their digitization strategy and create a large number of apps in the shortest possible time.

“For the first time, our multi-user approach enables no/low coders (citizen developers) to create highly complex, SAP-integrated applications directly out of business departments, for example. These integrate seamlessly into the system landscape of their own company and accelerate the fiorization strategy at the same time. In this way, valuable synergies can be generated,” adds Florian Rühl.

Glimpse into the future

Simplifier has continued this favorable growth since the start of the new fiscal year in April. The company continues to work on improving its offering and continuously expanding its license customer and partner business. In this regard, dedicated customer success teams have been established to provide partners and customers with even closer support and advice on all issues that arise. This enables Simplifier to optimize the interaction with customers and the customer journey and ensure that customer satisfaction improves continuously.

In late summer 2021, users can also look forward to the upcoming release 6.5, with that Simplifier continues to optimize the Low-Code platform. While developing the new version, the company is listening more closely to community feedback to meet their needs in the best possible way and thus simplify the work of the app builders even more.

Another goal of Simplifier is the steady ramp-up of the new marketplace. The portfolio of “ready-to-use” applications, connectors, and app templates available there will be continuously grown in close cooperation with partners and customers. Simplifier considers the community to be an essential part of the successful Low-Code concept and supports it with increasing documentation, new training formats and tailored service offerings as a result of the permanent enhancement and improvement of the product.
