Wuerzburg, June 09, 2022 – The low-code provider looks back on a successful fiscal year 2021. The Wuerzburg-based company was not only able to further expand its sales channels, but also strengthen its focus on the core product and the associated licensing business. As a result, they closed the fiscal year on March 31st with above-average growth compared to the market. The company intends to continue on this successful course in the current fiscal year: Commitment in the areas of product communication and partner management as well as strategic growth are the focus for this.

Simplifier was able to record numerous successes in the past fiscal year: Through the acquisition of important customers, the expansion of important partnerships and significant company growth, the Wuerzburg-based company is once again significantly expanding its position in the low-code market.

Market growth outperformed

Simplifier is operating in a rapidly growing market. For the year 2021, the analyst firm Forrester predicted an overall growth of the low-code market of 50 percent. The IT-focused market research company Gartner predicted market growth of almost 30 percent in 2021 for low-code platforms alone. The forecasts not only show that low-code is becoming increasingly established and gaining in importance, but also that demand for platforms is rising significantly. It is therefore all the more pleasing that Simplifier has again exceeded the comparative figures in the 2021 financial year and has once again significantly expanded its license business. With growth of almost 60 percent, the francs are significantly above market values. This success is based on successful acquisitions of major customers such as Felix Schöller, JAB and Preh.

Handover of the network portal to BTC and strengthening of partner cooperation

In December 2021, the low-code provider and the Oldenburg-based IT company BTC announced the takeover of the Simplifier-based net portal solution by BTC Business Technology Consulting AG in January 2022. After many years of close cooperation between the partners, the companies decided to have BTC take over the portal, resulting in an intensification of their strategic partnership. This will enable the development of the network portal solution to be driven forward in the best possible way. At the same time, Simplifier strengthened its strategic focus on its core product.

Overall, close cooperation with implementation and sales partners is an important pillar in Simplifier’s sales mix, which has been strengthened since the previous fiscal year by, among other things, the expansion of partner management.

Paving the way for future growth

The company is actively driving forward the further development of its corporate strategy and continuously expanding the expertise available within the company. A key element of this will be the newly appointed Advisory Board from 2022. With their in-depth expertise in the areas of software, energy and industry, the three members will support the low-code provider in the strategic expansion of its business activities. From 2022, industry expert Thomas Dieringer, Dr. Markus Litpher, CEO of Lechwerke AG, and Thomas Fischer, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Mann+Hummel, will make their know-how available to the low-code provider.

We look forward to working with the Advisory Board. Their long-standing expertise and comprehensive understanding of the various industries are of great importance to us. Together, we want to use them to strengthen and further expand our position not only in the German-speaking region, but in the entire European market.

Emphasis on a strong product and an active community

In the current fiscal year, Simplifier is focusing even more strongly on the platform of the same name and the steadily growing community. To this end, the company laid an important foundation last winter by strengthening its product team, which will now also be responsible for marketing the platform.

For us, the focus is always on our product. That is why we are continuously developing our platform to make it easier for our users to use and to work efficiently.

Christian Kleinschroth, CTO, Simplifier

The version released in May 2022 impresses with numerous new functions and optimized features in the areas of integration, interaction and governance.

In addition, the marketplace of the low-code provider was renewed. Since the relaunch on May 1, numerous ready-to-use components, from finished interfaces to use case templates, have been available for download by the community.

The Marketplace is a centerpiece of our platform and we are delighted that the offering has already been so well received shortly after the relaunch.

Christopher Bouveret, CIO, Simplifier

Sustainability is also an essential factor in the field of software today. With the Marketplace, we offer our customers the opportunity to design their applications not only faster, but also future-proof and thus to advance their digitization strategy in the sense of Composable Business.

The key to success is collaboration

For the further development of the company and the low-code market, the Wuerzburg-based company relies on close cooperation.

We see that low-code and citizen development are gaining in importance among partners and customers. Here, the principle applies: Use cases create use cases. With every implemented application, there are new ideas for further applications. That’s why it’s important for us to exchange ideas with customers and partners, as well as with each other. In the future, we would like to push this even further and promote low-code as the optimal solution approach for the development of business applications.
