Companies in a wide range of industries are rethinking their digitization strategy in order to make processes more efficient, to optimize them and to structure them in a manner that is geared for the future. In this context, they need solutions to implement their plans quickly, cost-effectively and without complications. One of these companies is the Preh Group, an internationally operating automotive supplier in the field of electromobility, car HMI and commercial vehicle HMI. Their digitalization strategy is implemented sustainably with the help of Simplifier’s low-code technology.

Preh, headquartered in Bad Neustadt on the Saale, develops and manufactures innovative operating systems for both cars and commercial vehicles, along with control units for electric and hybrid vehicles. Preh’s customers are well-known automotive manufacturers such as Audi, BMW, Daimler, Ford, GM, Porsche and Volkswagen.Â
How to find the right platformÂ
The Preh Group relies on a high degree of in-house production depth, including internal software and application development. Employees have the opportunity to apply their expertise directly to software and application development, with the focus on speed, connectivity and SAP integration capability at the same time.
Originally, the plan envisaged using SAP Board tools such as the Fiori Launchpad to implement the applications required. However, in voting rounds, the Preh Group was convinced by the advantages of Simplifier’s low-code platform – such as the wide range of possible scenarios, the easy implementation and the significant increase in efficiency.
Launch of the collaboration with Simplifier
An on-site appointment in December 2020 subsequently pinpointed the possibilities for Preh when implementing apps through the use of low-code technology. Among the requirements for the required inventory app was to scan a QR code on a workpiece, load the existing data from the SAP system, and display it on a smartphone. Conventionally, it would have taken an estimated ten working days to achieve the set result. Through the use of the Simplifier platform, however, the application was ready to run and function as an MVP (Minimum Viable Product) app on the same afternoon.Â
“The fast and uncomplicated implementation impressed us and reinforced our decision that Simplifier was the ideal solution platform to implement our strategy. In addition to the obvious increase in efficiency and optimization of digital structures, the reusability of the created applications was particularly convincing. Other than the problem-free connectivity to the existing SAP ecosystem, this was a crucial factor for us.”Â
Unfolding further potential
The introduction and onboarding into the Simplifier low-code development platform started with the enabling process in June 2021. Based on this, the inventory app will be further expanded. Additionally, further potential is being jointly examined with the customer support team as part of the Customer Success Journey – as such, applications at the store floor level have also been envisaged for the future.
“The collaboration with Simplifier from the start was very promising. We have communicated openly and directly with each other right up to the present day, which has enabled us to form a basis of trust for our collaboration very quickly,” says Christoph Seitz, SAP IT systems analyst at Preh. “We now intend to further unleash our potential with the help of the low-code platform and are confident that we have the ideal technology provider at our side in Simplifier to drive our digitization strategy forward.”Â
