Adrian Dexheimer from Mann & Schröder discusses new ways of application development in the SAP environment with Simplifier and the experts from IT-Onlinemagazin

After our successful participation in the IT Online Conference in October 2025, we are delighted to be able to present a real success story highlight at the IT Online Magazine Expert Talk again in January 2026: Adrian Dexheimer, Head of Shared Services in Software Development at Mann & Schröder Cosmetics Group, talks to Simplifier CIO Christopher Bouveret about his very personal experiences with application development outside of SAP BTP:

  • Why did his company decide to use the Simplifier platform?
  • What has changed since then – strategically, organizationally and economically?
  • What should you bear in mind if you want to follow a similar path to Mann & Schröder in the SAP environment?
  • And above all: does the new way of working actually bring economic benefits?

The Mann & Schröder Cosmetics Group is a leading manufacturer of cosmetics and care products and the largest private label producer for the dm brand Balea, among others, and attaches particular importance to sustainability and quality. The company has a complex IT infrastructure with SAP S/4HANA at its core and numerous peripheral systems. Although much was already automated in SAP, the internal team regularly reached its limits: too much effort in adapting tables, too little ABAP expertise, too much dependence on external parties and, on top of that, frustration when it came to efficiently implementing requirements from the specialist departments. The result: slow processes, high maintenance costs – and little room for real innovation. After initial experience with another low-code platform, Mann & Schröder made a conscious decision to consolidate with the Simplifier platform.

Aligning IT and business with a doer mindset

Companies with a complex SAP and non-SAP landscape often struggle with slow development processes – not good conditions in a time that should be characterized by large-scale digitization offensives and new initiatives to strengthen German competitiveness. But where do you start as a medium-sized company? Which technology mix promises the necessary efficiency, cost-effectiveness and sustainability? And how do you create a climate of innovative progress in IT, even against the backdrop of a shortage of skilled workers?

The journey is the destination

Mann & Schröder was looking for an efficient tool with which UI5 could be implemented faster than with SAP BTP on-board tools. They were specifically looking for technical possibilities to …

  • quickly and productively build your own apps outside of the BTP that are similar to the Fiori elements workflow and look like Fiori apps
  • Integrate the various SAP and non-SAP systems centrally on a single platform
  • the interfaces are relatively easy to create, so that everything can be covered and implemented with the specialist department without having to access databases or data sources

Then Simplifier came into play as the central orchestrator of a new type of application development – and a lot has happened at Mann & Schröder since then. Adrian Dexheimer and Christopher Bouveret talk about this in their expert talk at ITOK2026 and shed light on how to reduce complexity without compromising on security and gain significantly more implementation speed.

Look forward to exciting moments on January 26, 2026 from 4:00 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. and be there online!
