“Route sheet” app

Problem

To ensure the quality of the specialty papers, each production run is subjected to several laboratory tests, for which test plans are stored under the material numbers in SAP ERP
Previously, the test plans were printed out by laboratory staff before production and collected in routing slip folders
As with any workflow with manual filing or different media , folder handling also posed the typical challenges here, such as keeping the documents up to date

Solution

The “routing slip” app developed with Simplifier now completely replaces the routing slip folders – the inspection plan documentation process has been digitized
The lab technicians now use an iPad to enter the measured values directly and “just in time” into the system via the app
In addition, the entire preparation of the inspection process is mapped via the app – this saves coordination time, administrative effort and, last but not least, material such as printouts and folders

Impact

Prime example of the digitalization of a production-related workplace.

The app saves a lot of time and paper. The digital workflow is now more efficient and much more motivating for employees. The specialists can concentrate more on their inspection tasks than on documenting them. The “old-fashioned paper process” is also seen as more consistent with the innovative spirit of the company and is also gratefully accepted by skeptics.
