No-Code / Low-Code
Hipe or state of the art?
Certainly the latter. Software development and process modeling via user-friendly, graphical user interfaces have long since found their way into many IT departments and are used alongside traditional coding.
In July 2023, Computerwoche, together with CIO and CSO and study partner Simplifier, conducted an online survey of 386 (IT) decision-makers from companies in the D-A-CH region and confirmed precisely this trend: Accordingly, the question is not whether no-code or low-code platforms accelerate, facilitate and inspire the creation of applications, but to what extent the technologies are used as part of a company’s own IT strategy.
Personnel, innovation and budget bottlenecks could be eased and the go-to-market time shortened. These and many other aspects are highlighted in the current study “No-Code/Low-Code” – and it provides important insights into a topic whose dynamics will sooner or later reach and accompany all companies on the path to digital transformation.
For example, here are the 5 most important reasons for using no-code/low-code today:
- The acceleration of software development
- Increasing process efficiency
- The cost reduction
- The opportunities for citizen development
- The increase in usability
