Expansion of strategic partnership – BTC takes over network portal solution from Würzburg-based low-code provider Simplifier

Würzburg, December 07, 2021 – The Würzburg-based software manufacturer Simplifier and the Oldenburg-based IT company BTC announce the acquisition of the Netzportal solution by BTC Business Technology Consulting AG.

The solution is based on the low-code platform of the same name developed by Simplifier. With this acquisition, BTC AG is further expanding its expertise and team strength in the area of digital asset management for the energy market. Simplifier, on the other hand, is concentrating exclusively on the core product and the associated licensing business, thus focusing the company’s strategic orientation on low-code technology expertise. The contract was signed by the management boards of both companies in Würzburg on November 24. The business processes will become the responsibility of BTC on January 1, 2022.

Strategic added value for both companies

In order to continue to drive forward the development of the Netzportal solution in the best possible way and to realize its potential, Simplifier and BTC have decided to hand over control of the solution to BTC as part of their ongoing partnership. As a result, BTC will take over the network portal solution, the network portal customers and the employees of the network portal expert team from January 1, 2022.

The acquisition of the network portal solution opens up completely new opportunities and possibilities for Simplifier, BTC and the teams of both companies. On the one hand, Simplifier will be able to concentrate more on its core business and invest in continuous product and company development. On the other hand, the experienced network portal team will be able to continuously improve the network portal and the associated services. In cooperation with customers, the Netzportal 4.0 will be continuously developed in future and adapted to rapidly changing market conditions.

The network portal solution

The grid portal covers all relevant steps for an effective application process, from the connection application to commissioning, and also serves as an internal and external portal for communication with market partners. The portal solution is based on Simplifier’s low-code platform and enables customers of energy suppliers to register for electricity, gas, water and district heating conveniently and from home in the portal. Suppliers also benefit from automated workflows that automatically transfer status values and action data to the higher-level ERP system, for example.
