HERMA Modernizes Applications with AI-Powered Migration Using Simplifier

2 min read

HERMA is modernizing its application landscape—in collaboration with Simplifier, the company is migrating approximately 120 existing applications to the Agentic AI platform. The goal: to protect existing investments, ensure technological sustainability, and significantly accelerate the implementation of new requirements for the business units.

“As a medium-sized company in particular, we rely on being able to deploy tools quickly and efficiently. The productive use of AI-based tools is therefore firmly anchored in both HERMA’s corporate and digital strategies.”
— Dominik Bräuchle, CIO of the HERMA Group

Why HERMA is taking this approach
HERMA currently operates numerous SAP-based and custom solutions on an existing low-code platform. Instead of developing everything from scratch, the company relies on an AI-powered migration approach: The Simplifier Migration Agent analyzes existing applications, imports technical artifacts, and automatically prepares migration steps. This saves time, reduces risks, and protects development work that has already been completed.

“With the Simplifier Migration Agent, we are taking an innovative approach that can significantly speed up the migration of existing applications.”
— Dominik Bräuchle, CIO of the HERMA Group

What this means in practice

  • Preserving existing work: Instead of initiating expensive new construction projects, existing solutions are transformed in a cost-effective manner.
  • Faster Production: Automated preparation using AI analytics shortens the time to market for new requirements.
  • More predictable and less risky: Automation reduces sources of manual error and makes migrations more predictable

“The new platform is intended to serve as the central foundation for the development, integration, and automation of additional enterprise applications in the future.”
— Dennis Deile, Head of Enterprise Management Solutions, HERMA

What the project demonstrates
The collaboration between HERMA and Simplifier is an example of how companies can build on their digital transformation successes while taking the next step toward AI-powered platforms. Instead of developing applications from scratch, the AI-powered migration approach enables a cost-effective and low-risk transformation—and lays the foundation for delivering digital innovations to business units more quickly.

“Many companies are currently facing the challenge of strategically evolving their existing low-code landscapes. With our Simplifier Migration Agent, we’re introducing a new approach to protect existing investments while paving the way for modern process automation, integration, and agentic AI. We are very pleased that HERMA has placed its trust in us and look forward to working together.
— Florian Rühl, Member of the Executive Board, Simplifier AG
