For this reason, the world’s leading geared motor manufacturer NORD DRIVESYSTEMS decided to introduce the Simplifier low-code platform in order to optimize master data and change management.
NORD DRIVESYSTEMS has been developing, producing and selling drive technology since 1965 and today employs approx. 4,700 people and is one of the leading international full-range suppliers in the industry. In addition to standard drives, NORD also supplies application-specific concepts and solutions for special requirements, for example with energy-saving drives or explosion-protected systems. Annual turnover in the 2021 financial year amounted to 870 million euros. NORD has 48 subsidiaries in 36 countries and additional sales partners in more than 50 countries. These offer technical advice, on-site stocking, assembly centers and customer service. NORD develops and produces a diverse range of drive solutions for over 100 industries.
Optimal interaction with SAP
In the course of replacing existing master data and change management applications, Getriebebau Nord focused on compatibility with SAP. In future, a simple and reliable data transfer was to be guaranteed in order to carry out updates centrally and easily. The company also attached great importance to the intuitive and user-friendly creation and operation of the planned web applications. In the search for a suitable platform, Simplifier was able to convince the company within a short space of time.

Efficient use of employee expertise with low-code
The geared motor manufacturer deliberately opted for low-code when selecting a platform for application development. In combination with the company’s existing employee expertise, Getriebebau Nord recognized the potential of the technology to drive forward the development of web applications efficiently and in a resource-saving manner.
Rapid application creation
Getriebebau Nord is currently planning the implementation of five applications in the area of master data and change management with integration into the SAP system. The first application is to be implemented as early as November. Once the applications already planned have been completed, further applications with a workflow character and integration into SAP, such as the recording of investment requirements, are to be implemented. In addition, mobile apps in production are also conceivable, which should consolidate existing solutions on one platform.
