Simplifier Release 6.0 improves usability and shortens time-to-value

Agile software development on a new level: Simplifier Release 6.0 – now available

Würzburg, February 11, 2021 – In order to further simplify application development for both users without programming knowledge and professional software developers, the German low-code provider Simplifier has been working intensively on the new release of the platform of the same name over the past six months. The focus of Simplifier Release 6.0 is on optimizing user-friendliness. The fresh, new design, the provision of intelligent wizards and the Simplifier Marketplace with ready-to-use connectors and app templates are particularly noteworthy.

The past year has shown that companies need to be resilient, agile and digitalized in order to overcome challenges such as the current pandemic. The use of flexible technologies, such as low-code platforms, increases the adaptability and resilience of companies in the face of unexpected changes. In addition, the use of citizen developers and low-code platforms has been proven to accelerate digitalization in companies and improve the agility of software developers. It is therefore becoming increasingly important to involve employees from specialist departments, where the process expertise lies, in the digitalization process. Low-code development tools enable them to support the creation of digital solutions.

To enable companies to make the best possible use of these internal resources, Simplifier has worked intensively on the new 6.0 release over the past six months. The update includes three particularly noteworthy ‘highlight features’ and many other optimizations, making application creation with the Simplifier platform from the Würzburg-based low-code provider even more user-friendly.

Intelligent support from app assistants

The intelligent wizards guide the user step by step through the individual app development processes. Citizen developers and Simplifier beginners can create a completely finished application in less than five minutes. The intelligent “little helpers” also save professional developers a considerable amount of time: not only can they quickly familiarize themselves with the platform, but they can also build database-based apps in no time at all.

Useful synergy effects in the new Marketplace

Release 6.0 also provides a completely new environment: the Simplifier Marketplace. This initially offers access to ready-made connectors from the SAP, Microsoft and Google worlds. In future, however, users will also find numerous ready-to-use applications here as templates for the apps they want to create. They will benefit from synergy effects and will be able to use existing use cases and integration scenarios for their individual application after just a few adjustments. Connectors and app templates can be easily imported and used in Simplifier via download. Access to ready-made modules of this kind enables all developers – whether citizen developers or pro developers – to save a lot of time and money in software development.

The Simplifier community page also provides detailed documentation for many Marketplace contents. The Marketplace is considered one of the most important power features in Release 6.0 and can be expanded step by step with additional templates from the launch with the support of Simplifier partners, but later also by Simplifier community members. Simplifier’s aim here is to drive the growth of the existing ecosystem and to integrate the community – consisting of customers, partners, developers and users – even more closely. The content of the Marketplace also helps to continuously improve the usability of Simplifier.

New look & feel

In order to speed up the process from the app idea to the finished implementation for existing users and newcomers, the look and feel of the Simplifier platform in particular has been given high priority in the new release.The dashboard has been reduced to the essential information and is therefore clearer and tidier. All functions are now centrally accessible in a new central main menu within the left sidebar. In addition, new community elements have been integrated into the dashboard, providing direct access to the new Marketplace, the release notes and the community forum.

The revised widget groups view also demonstrates the strong focus on user-friendliness: the more than 50 ready-made design elements are displayed in the new release in the form of clear icons. This means that every user immediately recognizes which elements they want to use for their mockup and can integrate them directly into their screen design using drag & drop.

The Process Designer also appears in a new, fresh look. This makes the processes even easier to read. But above all, performance has been significantly improved: by shortening the loading times of processes, performance has been increased by a full 80 percent. This means that the processes now only require a fraction of the previous loading time, which also significantly speeds up the path to the finished app.

Simplifier low-code platform: future-proof and modern

Simplifier enables web-based, collaborative app creation in real time. The platform is based on open standards and completely dispenses with vendor lock-in.The “software made in Germany” has already won several awards.
