Successful past financial year: Simplifier further expands its position

Thanks to the continuous development of the platform and the associated adaptation to the rapidly changing requirements of low-code users, Simplifier was able to further expand its market position in the low-code sector. The company once again succeeded in doubling its license customer business in the DACH region and thus its annual recurring revenue. This is all the more pleasing given that potential new customers were rather reluctant to invest at the beginning of the fiscal year due to the crisis. The customers are primarily from German-speaking countries, but are successfully using Simplifier’s low-code technology in projects worldwide. Furthermore, Simplifier was once again able to acquire important strategic partners such as BTC, nagarro and adesso Schweiz GmbH, which accounted for 25 percent of new sales. In addition to Viessmann and Südzucker, Simplifier was able to acquire further well-known license customers in 2020/21 – including Bischof + Klein, Preh, GMN, KHS, Eurimpharm and the mtu brand.

“We can look back on a very successful financial year. This confirms our approach of gearing our platform more towards citizen developers in the SAP ecosystem. This enables our customers and partners to create SAP and non-SAP-integrated multi-device applications efficiently and with a view to the future,” says Reza Etemadian. “By using state-of-the-art technologies and the maximum flexibility of our platform, we not only create an advanced and intuitive user experience that benefits all customers and partners. We also offer significant advantages over our market competitors,” continues Etemadian.

Demand for low-code solutions on the market as a whole rose by between 30 and 40 percent last year. At Simplifier, however, the increase in demand was almost 100 percent. This trend is also reflected in the Simplifier community, which recorded an increase of almost 1,000 members last year and now has around 3,000 users.

Before the crisis began, inquiries to Simplifier came primarily from the utilities and manufacturing sectors. This has changed significantly over the past year. More and more customers now come from different business areas. Their structures are increasingly changing as a result of the crisis, which is why they are increasingly focusing on digitalization. Many have recognized the added value of low-code technology and are using it profitably. Companies from the food, pharmaceutical and chemical sectors in particular have found low-code to be a way of accelerating their digitalization strategy and creating a large number of apps in the shortest possible time.

“Thanks to our multi-user approach, no/low coders (citizen developers) can also create highly complex, SAP-integrated applications directly from the specialist departments for the first time. These fit seamlessly into the company’s own system landscape and at the same time accelerate the fiorization strategy. In this way, valuable synergies can be generated,” says Florian Rühl.

A look into the future

Since the start of the new financial year in April, Simplifier has been able to continue this positive development. The company continues to work on improving its offering and continuously expanding its license customer and partner business. In this context, dedicated customer success teams have been established to provide partners and customers with even closer support and advice on all issues that arise. In this way, Simplifier optimizes the exchange with customers as well as the customer journey and ensures even greater customer satisfaction.

In late summer 2021, users can also look forward to the 6.5 release, with which Simplifier will further optimize the low-code platform. When developing the new version, the company is increasingly responding to feedback from the community in order to best meet their requirements and make the work of app builders even easier.

Another goal of Simplifier is the continuous expansion of the new marketplace. The portfolio of ready-to-use applications, connectors and app templates available there is being continuously expanded in close cooperation with partners and customers. Simplifier sees the community as an essential component of the successful low-code concept and supports it with documentation, new training formats and tailored service offerings that are constantly expanding and improving the product.
