Making sensible use of existing resources and driving innovation forward at the same time
is a task that particularly concerns medium-sized companies. The need for future-proof digitization is faced with limited resources. Magnet-Schultz solves this challenge by introducing Simplifier. The low-code platform is intended to drive forward the development of Fiori applications.
MAGNET-SCHULTZ GmbH & Co KG is an international, family-run group of companies with 2,650 employees. As a specialist in electromagnetic actuators, sensors and valve technology, the company develops and manufactures individual high-tech solutions for hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanics and the commercial vehicle and automotive industries. The portfolio is used in a wide range of applications, e.g. in the control of automatic transmissions, in valves for mobile and stationary hydraulics, in medical technology and in a variety of solutions for different industries. Magnet-Schultz focuses on quality, sustainability and know-how. These principles are also reflected in the decision to introduce the Simplifier low-code platform.
Limits of Fiori development
The desire for innovation is anchored in Magnet-Schultz’s company history. However, the traditional development of SAP Fiori apps requires a great deal of time and expertise. When evaluating alternative solutions, the focus was on future-proofing, increasing efficiency and innovation security, which is why Simplifier was chosen.
Optimal technology and outstanding collaboration
In addition to the future-proof nature of the technology, performance, rapid implementation and a balanced price-performance ratio were decisive factors. Reference discussions with existing Simplifier customers confirmed Magnet-Schultz’s decision.
“Simplifier offers us the opportunity to develop business applications quickly and efficiently with the expertise available in the company. At the same time, the interaction with SAP is excellent: we have the Fiori look and feel and can easily integrate the platform into our SAP system landscape.
– Frank Möller, Head of IT, Magnet-Schultz
Collaborative application development
In addition to the web developers and SAP programmers, the specialist departments were also actively involved during the evaluation phase. The involvement of the specialist departments continues to be an integral part of agile work processes. Developments based on Simplifier can be implemented faster and more efficiently.
“Our first use case is an application for incoming goods, which is intended to digitalize the process and enable tasks to be processed directly on site and on the move. At the same time, we already have many ideas for further applications.
– Frank Möller, Head of IT, Magnet-Schultz
“The positive feedback on our technology means a lot to us. It shows that we are living up to our claim of developing state-of-the-art software.
– Florian Rühl, CSO & CEO, Simplifier AG
