Problem

The site manager used to create the site diary manually at the end of the day – a time-consuming and error-prone process, as the information was only entered hours after the drilling work had been completed
Administration was also a challenge, as the entire process was paper-based
In addition, the manual recording of material consumption and weather data caused additional work, and there was no central digital platform to view the construction progress at any time

Solution

With Simplifier, an app was developed that enables a digital construction diary – construction plans can be uploaded and the data points assigned using OCR technology
The site manager selects the relevant construction plan on his tablet and marks the pile to be drilled
This information is sent to the machine operator’s tablet via Bluetooth
The material consumption is calculated and the weather data is automatically logged using the coordinates of the construction site – with the help of the OpenWeatherMap API

Impact

Efficient construction projects in real time.

The solution saves time through direct, mobile documentation on the construction site. The completed and signed construction diaries are stored centrally via SharePoint, which increases project transparency and enables easy access for all those involved. Important information is logged automatically, and the final construction diary entries can be adjusted quickly at a later date.
