BOPLA GmbH is one of the most significant companies in the enclosure industry. For 50 years, the company has been developing and producing application-oriented electronic enclosures made of plastic and aluminum as well as input units based on touch screens and membrane keyboards. Precision is the focus here at all times – in product manufacture as well as in the preparation of quotations.
Retire Excel applicationsÂ
In order to ensure uniform and reliable quotation preparation and price calculation, the housing specialist uses a digital application based on Excel. While this ensures accuracy and consistency, it no longer meets modern standards. The organic growth of the application over the years also gradually increased its complexity, so that it gradually developed into a know-how silo. As the original developer and person responsible was due to retire in the foreseeable future, BOPLA was faced with the challenge of promptly establishing a future-proof, efficient and modern replacement for the calculation tool.

Thorsten Esser, IT management at BOPLA, became aware of the topic of low-code through a sales contact and quickly recognized the potential of the technology. In a comparison of providers, however, the optimal partner quickly crystallized for the company: Simplifier.
